A Year of That Northern Printer.

A Year of That Northern Printer.

🎉 Happy 1st Birthday to That Northern Print!

Well, here we are—That Northern Print (TNP) has officially turned one! What a journey this first year has been. From my very first market at the local community centre to showcasing work in some truly beautiful locations, it’s been a whirlwind.

Looking back, I feel really proud of how far things have come. When I started TNP, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. Having spent years working for others—whether in office roles, teaching, or different jobs—the thought of running my own business full-time was pretty nerve-wracking. But as the months have passed, I’ve grown to absolutely love what I do.

I began with just my own original cyanotypes, which I still adore making. Over time, though, I’ve expanded into small runs of screen prints and lino prints—all still rooted in my own sketches or photography. It’s been exciting to see the range of work evolve while staying true to the heart of my practice.

This year has also given me the chance to work with larger market organisers and to meet so many wonderful traders and customers. From Wilmslow and Haigh Hall, to the Bombed Out Church, Chester, and of course my more local markets—it’s been amazing to share my work in so many places.

That’s not to say it’s all been easy. There have been late nights, tough weekends, the occasional rude encounter, and even a few disheartening moments like thefts. But despite those challenges, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Here’s to the next 12 months—I can’t wait to see where TNP goes from here!

Thank you for supporting me on this journey,
Lisa
